This blog features information related to Asian Studies at GW. If you’re a student who’s gotten a job or internship, won an award, published a paper, won a fellowship or traveled someplace interesting, we want to know! We will also feature information about grants and fellowships you can apply for, jobs, internships, and relevant events in town, as well as information about courses, the Asian Studies program, and our faculty.

Spotlight Program: Marlee Grant
This past July, GWU student Marlee Grant traveled to Taipei, Taiwan with Giselle Ruzany, a professor in the dance program at GWU, and one other dance major, Hana Springer. Thanks to a grant that funded an ESIA-TRDA crossover and collaboration, they participated in the World Stage Design Festival and worked closely with Anarchy Dance Theater and choreographer I-Fen Tung, who then came to DC on an exchange to choreograph a work with our dancers here at GWU. (Read more her experience here)
Now, Marlee is a Marketing Strategy and Content Intern at the John F Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts. The Kennedy Center recently published an article on Marlee's internship experience, which can be viewed here.
