Internship Opportunity

McGuireWoods/NLF Undergraduate Internship Program Spring 2017

 16 hours (minimum) per week for 12 weeks
Stipend: $1000

McGuireWoods LLP, the National Asian Pacific American Bar Association (NAPABA), and the NAPABA Law Foundation (NLF) invite you to apply for the McGuireWoods/NLF Undergraduate Internship Program. The Program supports students interested in the legal profession and helps students develop a commitment to advocacy on behalf of the Asian Pacific American (APA) community. 

Internship Placement
The Program seeks to achieve these goals by providing undergraduate students with meaningful internship experiences at the NAPABA and NLF offices in Washington, D.C.


Compensation
The intern will be awarded a stipend of $1,000 for the internship duration of 16 hours per week (minimum) for 12 weeks. Funding for this program is generously provided by McGuireWoods LLP
Responsibilities
  • Conducting research on issues affecting APAs and the legal profession
  • Coordinating the activities of NAPABA’s committees on civil rights, immigration, community service, and pro bono issues
  • Attending events and meetings in the APA and legal community
  • Assisting with the planning and execution of special events such as the annual convention and lobby day
  • Performing other tasks to support NAPABA/NLF staff as necessary. Up to 50% of the intern’s time may be spent on projects for NLF

  •  High degrees of resourcefulness, problem-solving, and initiative
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks and projects
  • Excellent writing skills
  • Keen attention to detail
  • Interest in law, events, and/or public policy
