Critical Language Scholarship Program for Graduate Students

Critical Language Scholarship Program Information Session

The Office of Graduate Student Assistantships and Fellowships (OGSAF) is pleased to host a Critical Language Scholarship (CLS) Information Session for GW graduate students. A CLS representative will be presenting at the session and will be available to answer questions about the scholarship. You must be a U.S. Citizen to be eligible to apply for the scholarship.

The CLS Program is part of a U.S. government effort to expand dramatically the number of Americans studying and mastering critically needed foreign languages. The Critical Language Scholarship provides fully-funded group-based intensive language instruction and structured cultural enrichment experiences for seven to ten weeks for U.S. citizen undergraduate, Masters and Ph.D. students in the following languages:
  • Arabic, Persian: Advanced Beginning, Intermediate or Advanced level;
  • Azerbaijani, Bangla, Hindi, Indonesian, Korean, Punjabi, Turkish, Urdu: Beginning, Advanced Beginning, Intermediate or Advanced level;
  • Chinese, Japanese, Russian: Intermediate or Advanced level.
